Spent a couple of weeks in our cottage in the forested hills we own in the Hiroshima countryside.
Visited Kyoto . . . Oita, where a friend of us owns a lot of acres of land and where he runs a few restaurants and Ryokans there.
Where in his villa he has a Goemon-buro !
That is a huge pot named after a guy who was boiled to death into it.
But now is mostly (as far as I'm aware) used by the affluent for a warm bath in the garden, in the winter.
Among other places . . . ate great food everywhere !
Not to mention the best sushi money can buy !

Just my dream of visiting north most of Hokkaido did not materialize.

But having to deal with the municipality . . . signing tons of documents . . . THAT was a real pain in the *** !
